Faster Switching & Easier access controls

Last month was a busy one! We’ve been working hard on making your workflow smoother with a few big quality-of-life upgrades. Here is a look at what’s new.

Find your suborganisation faster

If you’re managing multiple environments, you know that scrolling through a long list to find the right organization can be a pain. We’ve added a search bar directly into the organization switcher.

Now, you can just start typing the name of the workspace you need and jump straight into work. It’s a small change that saves a lot of clicking time every single day.

Manage permissions at scale with the Assignment Matrix

Gone are the days of manually clicking into every single report to assign users or groups. We know how tedious that was, so we built the Assignment Matrix to give you a bird's-eye view of your permissions.

With this new interface, you can:

Save time: Bulk assign multiple reports to groups or individuals in one view.
Reduce errors: Easily spot who has access to what without toggling between different screens.
Stay organized: Manage complex permissions for large teams without the headache.

Other changes

In some cases when refreshing a dataset it was not clear that all concurrent refreshes were in use. That is now clearly stated.
DataTako now supports very complex chained semantic models where one model might use RLS and the other doesn't. This now works out of the box!
For unactivated users, you can now manually copy the activation link from the user management screen. With this you can provide easier support if a user is unable to access their mailbox themself.
There was an issue with automatic report syncs in suborganisations, this has now been resolved.

Coming up

We are currently finalizing a new set of upgrades to DataTako. The most important ones are the ability to create folders within report groups to further organize reports and PDF's. The other one is the upcoming release of the DataTako mobile app for iOS and Android. This app allows you not only to view reports, but also manage most parts of the environment, all from your phone. Release date is coming soon.
